Today, I sit down with a fascinating man. His name is Mat Best and many of you know from his viral videos for Black Rifle Coffee Company. But what you may not know is how he views his military service as an Army Ranger with five combat tours.
During our conversation, we talked about how he views his service, his continual support of military veterans, how he founded his mission after the military, where he stumbled along the way, and how he helped turn a simple coffee company into a household name.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
MAT BEST
As I stated earlier, my guest today is someone most of you are probably familiar with. His name is Mat Best and he is a former Army Ranger and the co-founder of Black Rifle Coffee company along with several other companies he founded since leaving the military.
He and I had the opportunity to sit down at Total Archery Challenge a couple of weeks ago in Park City to talk about his military service, how to lead an incredible organization in Black Rifle Coffee Company, and his new book, Thank You For My Service.
Gents, I think you’re going to enjoy this one as you might see a side of Mat you haven’t seen before.
ORIGIN
If you’re not familiar with Origin Maine, I encourage you to get familiar with them as soon as you can. Whether or not you’re into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or not is irrelevant as they do so much more than make gi’s and rashguards.
Their goal is to restore American Manufacturing and with their new denim line, boot line, and Jocko Supplements, they are on the path to doing just that.
I personally use their supplements, specifically, their Super Krill, Joint Warfare (for the aching joints since ramping up Jiu-Jitsu), Molk, and their new product, a cognitive enhancement called Discipline Go.
If you’re looking to add some supplements to your nutritional and exercise lineup, check out Jocko’s products by Origin Maine and, when you do, use the code “order” at checkout to get a 10% discount. Head to www.originmaine.com and, again, use the code, “order” at checkout.

It comes as no surprise that most men have a desire to stand out from the pack as a man of credibility and authority. I call it influence and, the more of it you have with others, the more effective and successful you will be in your life.
Today, I am joined by my friend, Bert Sorin, to talk about how to stand out as the man. He’s a man I’ve respected immensely since I met him a little over a year ago and someone who stands out as the type of man I’m referring. We get into the “x-factor,” adding value in all of your interactions, matching your actions with your words, and how to stand out as a man among men.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
BERT SORIN
Gents, today I am joined by repeat guest and friend, Bert Sorin.
Bert is the President and CEO of Sorinex. I know you’ve been hearing me talk about them for some time now since I was introduced to him and Sorinex about this time last year.
Bert is a former Division 1 Track and Field All-American and an Olympics Trial athlete. And, what he learned in sports, he has now translated to running this incredible leader in strength and exercise equipment.
And, it’s not only about their equipment. I had the privilege of attending their annual event, SummerStrong, and I can tell you that the culture they’ve created within the organization and movement is a sight to behold. And, because of that, I thought Bert and I needed to sit down for round 2 to talk about standing out. Enjoy.
MAINE EVENT
One of the most frequently asked questions I receive is something along the lines of “How do I get my life back on track?” I wish there was an easy answer. There isn’t. But, there is a simple one.
It’s called the Battle Plan and it’s a system I’ve been developing over 10 years to take control of my health, relationships, bank account, this movement, and my life in general.
If you’ve been listening to the podcast over the past month, you’ve heard me talk about the Order of Man Maine event (held August 10th-11th). Among the like-minded men you’ll meet, the challenges we’ll participate in, and the activities we have planned, you’ll be working on your own Battle Plan to accomplish more in the next 90 days than you potentially have all year.
If you know you’re meant for more but haven’t found the systems and tools to maximize your potential, join us August 10th-11th in Maine for an event designed to give you the network and framework to take complete sovereignty over your life.

All of us are dealt a hand, some harder than others. But as my guest today can attest, it’s not the hand we’re dealt that matters, it’s how we play it.
Today’s conversation is with Nick Santonastasso (who many of you are already probably aware of). He is a bodybuilder, entrepreneur, adventurer, and highly-sought-after public speaker. And, he was born with a debilitating medical condition which left him legless and missing one arm. Today, we talk about overcoming the victim mentality, how to develop confidence, how to view difficult circumstances as a gift, and how to defeat the odds.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
NICK SANTONASTASSO
As I mentioned earlier, my guest today is Nick Santonastasso. He has got to be one of the most inspiring people that I know and, if you’re familiar with him, I think you would likely agree.
He was born with a rare medical condition (he’s only one of 12 people born with it and 8 of them are dead). It’s called Hanhart Syndrom and it kept him from developing his legs and one of his arms.
But none of that has stopped him. In fact, if anything, it’s propelled him forward as he’s taken what would both literally and figuratively cripple most and turned it into something extremely empowering for him and the millions he inspires.
He’s tried it all from bowling to wrestling to bodybuilding and now, he’s speaking up as one of the most sought-after public speakers in the world. And, once you listen to this podcast, I think you’ll know why.

Many of us, as men, have ambitions to leave a legacy. What that legacy looks like varies from man to man but ultimately, we all have a desire to leave this world better than when we got here. And, legacy is something my guest, his father, and his father’s father know how to create.
Today, I’m joined by the President and CEO of Weatherby (American Firearms Manufacturer), Adam Weatherby. He is the grandson of the founder, Roy Weatherby. And, he recently took up the mantle as head of this 70-year-old, third-generation business. Today, we talk about what it took to create, how things evolve over generations, the power of storytelling, and how to create a generational business and legacy.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
ADAM WEATHERBY
Today, I’m joined by my friend and the President of Weatherby, Adam Weatherby. I met Adam a couple of years ago through mutual friends at MTNOPS and, in getting to know him, and hearing more about the history of Weatherby and his vision for, I knew we needed to sit down for a conversation.
Adam started working at Weatherby more than 20 years ago in tech. support, warranty service, and sales and marketing before leaving after four years to pursue his ambitions to become a pastor. He returned to Weatherby not too long ago and was named President in 2017.
I’m inspired by his vision, direction, and leadership with his organization and I think you guys are going to get a glimpse into what it takes to lead a generational business.

It seems to me the more that I have conversations on this podcast, the more questions I have rather than the answers I’ve been seeking. But it’s been said that the quality of your life will be determined by the quality of the questions you ask. So, when I have an opportunity to sit down with my friend, Andy Stumpf, to ask some of life’s challenging questions, it’s always a great discussion.
Today, we talk about so many different topics like taking risks (which we’ve both done with moving our families), developing resilience in our lives, and the never-ending challenges that come with raising kids.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
ANDY STUMPF
My guest today is my friend, Andy Stumpf. I heard he was making a trip to Maine about a week after I got here so I reached out and scheduled a conversation on this podcast. We had a day of archery, Jiu-Jitsu, a podcast session, and finished it off with a lobster bake with our friends, Pete Roberts, and Brian Littlefield.
If you don’t know who Andy Stumpf is, he is a retired Navy SEAL, avid bow hunter, and a base jumping, wingsuit flying mad man. But, in addition to that, he’s one of the most level-headed men that I know. I think a lot of that has been developed to even out his quest for adventure.
You’re going to enjoy this one as it’s not so much of an interview but two men talking about the challenges and struggles that are part of life.
MAINE EVENT
I’m sure you’ve heard by now that we’ve got our Order of Man Maine event taking place on August 10-11, 2019, with an exclusive Iron Council dinner on the 9th.
