I haven’t always been as appreciative of the wild, nature, and wildlife as I am now. With me getting involved in hunting over the past several years, I’ve been more intimately connected to the outdoors than I ever have.
So, when Coyote Peterson’s team reached out, I knew it would make for an interesting discussion (And, if you have children, they’re really going to like this one). Today, we talk about nature, encouraging youth to get involved in the wild, the unintended consequences of excessive human interaction with nature, where Coyote and I disagree on hunting, and, ultimately, some of his craziest animal encounters.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
COYOTE PETERSON
Nathaniel “Coyote” Peterson is a wildlife educator and the host of the Brave Wilderness YouTube channel with nearly 15,000,000 subscribers.
I was first introduced to Coyote by my two oldest sons while they were on YouTube and asked me to come watch this “crazy guy who intentionally gets stung and bit by animals.”
He’s also the author of 4 books, the host of a new Animal Planet television show set to be aired early next year, and the recipient of an Emmy for one of his series’ called, Breaking Trail.
This one is a little different than you might be used to on the Order of Man podcast but if you’re interested in hearing our intelligent disagreement/discussion about hunting and, if you have children, you’re definitely going to want to tune in.
I hope you enjoy my podcast with the fascinating and interesting Coyote Peterson.

As many of you know, I’ve immersed myself in training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over the past 3-4 months and, although, I’m only getting started on this path, I can see how beneficial and valuable it is to train in martial arts.
Today, I have the honor of talking with André Almeida (he simply goes by “Dedeco”), a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blackbelt who has been practicing for over 30 years. We talk about his rocky past in Brazil, how Jiu-Jitsu saved his life, what to look for when getting started on your own path, and the mindset needed to be a successful Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
ANDRE “DEDECO” ALMEIDA
Today, I have the honor of introducing you to my friend, Dedeco. Dedeco and I met last year at Origin’s Immersion Camp and since then, he’s become a friend and a bit of a mentor (although mostly online via social media). And, with as many questions as I’ve received about me starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I can’t think of anyone better to talk with that him.
Dedeco has been practicing Jiu-Jitsu for more than 30 years and credits his life to being introduced to the art. He’s a Brazilian National Champion, 3x State Champion, and 2x Pan American medalist.
On top of that, he’s one of the most sincere and genuine people that I know and I can’t wait for you to hear our conversation. I hope you enjoy, gentlemen.
IRON COUNCIL
Most of you know about the Iron Council by now. It’s our exclusive brotherhood designed to give you the tools, resources, and accountability you need to thrive and accomplish your biggest objectives.
This month, we’re talking about being prepared for emergencies and potentially catastrophic events. But more than talking about these things, we’re actively working towards making ourselves more capable husbands, fathers, business owners, and community leaders. That’s why we issue challenges and assignments as tools to bridge the gap between what we know we should be doing and what we’re actually doing.
If you want to band with us and take the leap from knowledge to action and accomplish more in the next 3 months than you potentially have all year, head to www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil.

Quitting has become all too common and all too popular. While I can certainly agree that there may be a point in time where it may be the right course of action, too many men throw in the towel too soon and limit themselves to minimal results in the process. Learning to stick with projects, tasks, and relationships longer than you may normally do opens up all sorts of opportunities reserved for those who show the most perseverance and grit.
Today, I have the opportunity to sit down with former Navy SEAL, JP Dinnell, to talk about his “Never Quit” attitude, where he developed this mentality, qualifiers for staying and quitting, and ultimately how you too can develop the same “Never Quit” mentality.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
JP DINNELL
Gents, today I sit down with repeat guest, JP Dinnell.
He is a former Navy SEAL and served with Task Unit Bruiser with Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. Under their command, he served as an elite SEAL sniper in one of the deadliest regions of Iraq in 2006. In fact, his counterpart was Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle.
He also served as a training instructor at Naval Special Warfare Group where he developed special operations urban combat and close-quarter training to better prepare SEAL units for the battlefield.
JP has become a friend, a mentor, and someone I’m motivated and inspired by daily.

I don’t care in what capacity you’re showing up in life – you are a leader. And, whether you realize it or not, you are having an influence on those around you. Whether you’re trying to secure a job promotion, lead your team and co-workers to success, manage a home, or get their kids to do their chores, your ability to learn and implement the strategies Jocko and I share today are critical.
Jocko Willink (a man who needs no introduction) and I sit down face to face to discuss what it means to be a leader, considerations when raising kids right, striking the balance between opposing leadership methods (dichotomies), and very specific leadership strategies and tactics. And, if all that isn’t enough, we talk a little bit about archery and beards.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS
JOCKO WILLINK
My guest today is a man who has now been on the podcast on four separate occasions and someone who does not, for most of you listening, need an introduction. His name is Jocko Willink and he served as the Navy SEAL Commander for the most highly-decorated special forces unit of the Iraq war.
And, since leaving the military has gone on to lead on of the most recognizable and effective leadership companies in the world with his brother-in-arms, Leif Babin, Echelon Front.
On top of all of that, he’s written 8 books with his most recent being Leadership Strategy and tactics Field Manual (which we’ll be discussing today). His other books include Extreme Ownership, Dichotomy of Leadership, and the Way of the Warrior Kid series, among others.
I’m honored to call this man a friend and am proud to be able to share our conversation with you today.
IRON COUNCIL
Obviously, we’ve been talking all about leadership today on the podcast. I want to offer you an additional resource if you’re looking to up your leadership effectiveness.
It’s called the Iron Council and it’s a brotherhood of men working together to achieve maximum results in our lives. And, a lot of what we discuss is centered around the third pillar of masculinity, Preside, which is synonymous with leadership.
Most of the institutions that have served men and offered a place for them to band together have been on the decline and while all of that is going away, the Order of Man and the Iron Council is rising up instead. We’re dedicated to giving you the tools, resources, brotherhood, camaraderie, and accountability to step fully into that man you have a desire to become.
