But it’s the ability to stop, ponder, and critically think about the situations we find ourselves in that will get you on the path you have a desire to walk. And, today, I am joined by the host of the Modern Wisdom Podcast, Chris Williamson, to discuss things like the power of curiosity, how to graduate from your current friends, how mental masturbation is holding you back, why you need to find ways to break up the monotony of your life, and so much more.

  • Recognizing worth outside of your accomplishments
  • The problem with insecurity and fear as a motivator

There is no question that America is in turmoil right now. Between nationwide shortages of supplies, the unpopularity of our current President, the reaction and subsequent fallout of COVID, and the extreme polarity among so many of us, it’s clear that we’re likely to face some challenging times ahead. The questions that remain are, “Are you ready?” and, “Will you be able to protect, provide, and preside over you and yours?”

That’s exactly why I’ve been looking forward to the conversation with my guest, Mike Glover with Fieldcraft Survival and American Contingency. Today, we talk about building the next generation of warriors, the importance of service to community, the degradation and destruction of the family unit, “endless wars,” the turmoil in Afghanistan (which most of us have already forgotten), and how to be a man in and for your community.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

  • What is being done in Afghanistan
  • The degradation of Christian values
  • The origins of Fieldcraft Survival
  • Behind the curtains of the CIA
  • Central government versus the people
  • It is our role to assist the world
  • Extreme incompetence or extreme intentionality
  • Shipping troubles and Chinese involvement
  • Developing a community of assets
  • Become the solution to your own problem

Hunting has started to gain some serious traction over the past several years. With notable influencers like Joe Rogan, Cameron Hanes, and John Dudley all advocating for the benefits of connecting with your food source, it’s easy to see why so many have become interested in the process.

In fact, I only started hunting 4 years ago and, in that time, I have been introduced to some amazing people in the community like my guest today, John Barklow, who is a big game product manager for the premier camouflage on the market, SITKA Gear. Today, John and I talk about how social media has both been helping and hurting the cause of hunting, why there is such a surge in the hunting space, why – if you want to get into hunting yourself – you need to take initiative, the beautiful responsibility outdoorsmen have, and the proficiencies men need to develop to become successful in harvesting wild game.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The rising popularity of hunting
  • Instagram hunting vs. reality
  • Finding common ground with vegans and vegetarians

Work/life balance is a term that gets thrown around all the time. And, although I believe it’s a bit of a misnomer, there is no question that finding the proper allocation of time, attention, and resources towards professional and personal pursuits is on plenty of men’s minds.

That’s why I’m stoked to finally be sitting down with my friend, Jesse Itzler. Jesse is someone who, in spite of his tremendous professional success, has managed to become an incredibly committed and devoted husband and father. Today, we talk about why that is and how he has been able to make that happen using very specific strategies and system (which he shares during our conversation), pursuing unique and interesting ventures, finding one challenging adventure to take part in each and every year, and how to live a life optimized.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:
