It’s easy to be on edge these days. With so much nonsense going on in the world from political protests, government overreach, cancel culture, everyone being offended by everything, and a myriad of other issues that aren’t really all that important in the grand scheme of things, it’s hard to find a sense of peace that I think most of us would really like to have in our lives.

Today, I’m joined by a man that has seemed to not only find it but is so uniquely comfortable and sure of who he is that you can’t help but be intrigued and fascinated about how he’s done it. His name is Phil Robertson (you may know him from Duck Dynasty). Today, we talk about the power of love, justice and mercy, the power of hope, finding confidence in who you are, discovering the true nature of people, and so much more (he even does some bird calling for me with his signature calls). And, we also get into why Phil was canceled and how he’s taking it all in stride.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Finding answers in the Bible
  • Difference between child of God and child of the devil
  • Loving your enemies
  • Finding meaning in peace
  • Finding Jesus is the smartest move I’ve ever made
  • Hate WHAT is evil, not WHO is evil
  • How to not alienate non-believers
  • Why is the Gospel so threatening
  • Standing by your convictions

Everyone out there is searching for a fulfilled and meaningful life, especially if you’re listening to this podcast. But too many men attempt to find that meaning and purpose in some self-absorbed pursuit. In my experience (and all the guests I’ve talked with on the podcast), the most meaningful experiences are found in serving others.

My guest today, Justin Wren, is no exception as he has found his life’s working in serving the Pygmy People in Africa. Today, we talk about the power of purpose, creating opportunities, when attempting to help people actually hurts them, the American bubble of prosperity, stacking reasons to win, and always remembering who you’re fighting for and why you’re fighting.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Fighters live in the extremes
  • Sometimes you need to experience to understand
  • Understanding the Pigmy culture
  • The impacts of modern slavery
