(12:00) What would you do regain the passion for something you’ve lost due to your own greed, selfishness or laziness?

(20:30) What factor have you seen that makes the difference between someone succeeding with their goals, battle plan, etc. and them failing?

(29:30) What strategies do you use when you feel overwhelmed with more to do than you have time?

(32:20) My friend has been thinking about starting a business idea for a few years. This business is like a second side to the business that I run right now. Would it be inappropriate if I begin doing this business because I have the funds and time to do it, while he doesn’t? Or would I be stepping on his toes and negatively affecting our friendship by doing this?

(36:30) What are some ways to make the most of being a stay-at-home dad and overcoming the stigma that goes with it?

(39:00) What do you do if you are struggling to move on from a crisis, even after the danger has passed?

(45:00) If you could only have one piece of equipment to work out with, what would it be?

(45:50) How do you safely handle conflict at work, online, or at home?

(50:00) While working to expand my business/brand, I can’t always be there holding hands. What is your first move with creating an environment to have employees that generate revenue when you or one of your managers is not around to keep that momentum and that expectation high?

(58:50) How do you talk about Toxic Masculinity when other people believe it’s a real thing?

(1:08:30) How do you deal with a mother-in-law who is very opinionated about everything in your wife’s life? Do you set boundaries or do you let your wife set the boundaries?

(1:10:00) What is the resolution for raising a child who has been spoiled?

(1:14:30) How can I better communicate my feelings, ideas, wants, and information?

Most of us would like to believe that in a moment we are called to make a stand on our principles, we would do it without hesitation. But can we say for certain we would act in accordance with what we believe when confronted with the risk of social alienation, ostracization from our friends and family, potential loss of a job, and the financial insecurity that comes with it?

That’s exactly what my guest, NBA star Jonathan Isaac, had to deal with when he decided to stand for the National Anthem when all of his teammates took a knee during the height of the Black Lives Matter movement and the George Floyd case. Today, we talk about his decision to do so, why people place labels on and attempt to dehumanize others, facing your fears by walking with Christ, the power of social media and group think, and becoming bold as lions.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Choosing to make a stand
  • Loving each other the way that God loves us
  • Highly emotional situations require restraint
  • Hypocrisy in the faith
  • Racism is cured by a change in someones heart
  • The message often gets lost in a protest
  • When God’s plan doesn’t align with our plan
  • Staying in your lane while being authentic to yourself

Membership in the Iron Council will be opening soon.  Join the waitlist here.

I’ve spent a ton of time over the past several weeks really contemplating my performance and how I’m showing up both personally and professionally for my family, friends, and those of you who tune into what we’re doing here with Order of Man. One of the greatest challenges we face as men is finding a like-minded band of brothers we can rely on when needed and we can serve as they need us. In the ease of modernity, we’ve been led to believe we can and have to go at life alone. That just isn’t the case.

My guest today is the President of F3 Nation, whom a lot of you are familiar with. His name is Frank Schwartz and he goes by the nickname, “Dark Helmet.” Today, Frank and I talk about the power of fitness, fellowship, and faith in a man’s life, overcoming the feeling of dissatisfaction, becoming a high-impact man, our desperation for love and recognition (yes, even in men), and the positive benefits of engaging in dangerous, dirty, and difficult pursuits.

You know as well as I do all the cultural dangers ourselves, families, and communities are presented with. And, as much as we’d like to pin it on some politician or outside factor beyond our control, the bigger issue is that the greatest threat is ourselves and our unwillingness to face the challenges that we see.

My guest today is Kirk Cameron. He is an actor and is most well-known for his character, Mike Seaver on the 80’s hit sitcom, Growing Pains. We’ve all begun to see the writing on the wall as it pertains to the loss in American manufacturing and the damage to the American supply chain. Today, we talk about ever-changing market dynamics and how to stay ahead of the curve, why it’s crucial we honor our past manufacturing heritage, building what Pete calls, a “blockchain of manufacturing,” the power of the “blue collar mindset,” and fully unlocking American Potential.

I think whether you’re willing to acknowledge it or not, we are most definitely facing a crisis of our young men. From incarceration and suicide rates, to substance abuse issues, to failing and lagging societal metrics, it’s safe (and, extremely tragic) to say that our boys are fighting an uphill battle.

Today, we talk about the dangers of lacking structure and purpose, how the “dad-style” vs. the “mom-style” of parenting actually creates awareness and empathy, how dopamine secretion and other physiological responses assist boys and men in doing the right thing, and the dangers and destructive results of “dad-deprivation.”

So many of us talk a big game when it comes to helping future generations of boys become the men their families, friends, and communities need them to be. And, yet, so few are willing to do much about it other than cleverly-crafted platitudes.

My guest today is different. His name is King Randall and he is a man that is actually doing something about leading in his community and helping the young men who don’t have the same opportunities that many of us did. Today, we talk about what it takes to build a prep school for boys, the motto and mission of, “Let us Make Men,” how he got over asking for money and what it looks like to build a 501c3 organization, the pros and cons of being young, and how it’s character that makes the man.
