Gentlemen, there is so much negativity, hostility, and vitriol in the world today. It’s unfortunate because even in the most difficult of circumstances there is so much to be positive about and grateful for. And, as we look for and embrace those factors, life becomes so much more rewarding and fulfilling.

Today, I am joined by country music artist, Granger Smith (we also talk about his alter-ego, Earl Dibbles, Jr.) to talk gratitude, juggling all of our duties and responsibilities, and attaching the right (and empowering) meaning to events. We also talk about the tragic loss of Granger’s son and how he continues to lead his family through one of the most difficult situations imaginable – losing a child.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Granger’s new upcoming video
  • Benefiting from hard work
  • Overcoming negativity
  • Developing a successful career
  • Managing at a larger level
  • Getting asked the right question
  • Harnessing social media
  • Having a grateful attitude

  • How to juggle life
  • Balancing grief and loss

GRANGER SMITH

Gents, my guest today is an absolutely incredible man. His name is Granger Smith.

He is an extremely successful country music artist, host of the Granger Smith podcast, and co-creator of his alter-ego, Earl Dibbles, Jr., the spokesman for his clothing apparel company Yee Yee Apparel.

I’ve been following Granger for years now and I had always been impressed with his positivity and outlook on life and, after our conversation today, I am even more so. We talk about so much today. His positivity, energy, and excitement for life is infectious and it makes me want to be a better man myself. I think it will for you too.

IRON COUNCIL

Having men in your corner cannot be overstated. Too many men have decided to walk through life alone and, oftentimes, they’re left feeling frustrated and overwhelmed with all they have to deal with.

But banding with other men doesn’t make you weak or inferior. If anything, it gives you access to the tools and accountability needed to make you stronger. And, with over 800 men inside our exclusive brotherhood, The Iron Council, you are going to find the type of men you need to thrive inside the walls or your home, business, and in your community.

I know a lot of you have been sitting on the fence on the Iron Council so get off the fence and give it a try. Worst case scenario, you don’t find any value and you leave. But I think you’ll find that when you band with us, every facet of your life is going to improve and you’ll only be asking why you didn’t join us sooner.

He is a New York Times Bestselling Author and has personally been extremely influential in the work that we’re doing here with Order of Man and I could not be more grateful to him and proud to give you round two of our discussion.

THE ART OF IMPOSSIBLE

Gents, inside the Iron Council for the month of February, we’re talking about how to craft your day but for the month of March, we’ll be covering “The Art of Impossible” and uncover how you can turn your dreams, ideas, and ambitions into reality.

If only more of us, as men, learned more about the laws of power and the dynamics of human nature, we’d be able to lead others more effectively. Unfortunately, many men believe that even exploring these concepts is an immoral pursuit. And, although they can be used to hurt others, they can also be used to fulfill our responsibilities to protect, provide, and preside.

Today, I am joined by multiple New York Times Bestselling Author, Robert Greene to talk about the negative stigma that comes with power and human nature dynamics. We also cover embracing weirdness, what he refers to as “power games,” how life isn’t always a win-win, why so many people have incorporated whining as a tactic for power, and why manipulation isn’t inherently wrong.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • The “Crisis Generation”
  • Finding middle ground
  • Dealing with Woke Culture
  • Painful opportunities and lessons
  • Why parents have become so afraid
  • How resistance makes you tougher
  • Influencing people

  • The Manipulative Side of humans
  •  Getting what you want
  • Changing other opinions
  • Virtue signaling as a strategy
  • The human desire for power
  •  Gain at the expense of another
  • Becoming more enlightened
  • Asymmetric warfare
  • Operating outside a moral code

ROBERT GREENE

My guest today is the one and only Robert Greene. Needless to say, his writings and teaching have inspired much discussion and controversy about the laws of human nature and how to harness them effectively.

He is the author of many books including The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, Mastery, and The Laws of Human Nature. And, for over 25 years, he’s been researching, studying, and sharing lessons about how people behave and why they do what they do.

This one was a very enlightening discussion and gave me some tremendous insight into not only how Robert’s mind works, but other humans as well.

IRON COUNCIL

Gents, obviously, we’ve been talking a lot about how humans behave and, along those same lines, I’ve found that one of the things we, as men, crave most is other men who are willing and able to walk shoulder to shoulder with us in life.

Of course, there is the camaraderie of brotherhood but the accountability that comes from surrounding yourself with successful men cannot be overstated. That’s why the Iron Council, our exclusive brotherhood, is so powerful.

Inside the Iron Council, you’ll unlock access to the network of men you can count on to push, teach, mentor, and band with you. And, you’ll also find the framework needed to thrive in a world that continues to grow more complex and competitive by the day.

If you’re ready to band with a solid group of men, join us inside the Iron Council at www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil.

Feb 23, 2021

We live in some interesting times, to say the least. Coronavirus, the reaction to Coronavirus, political unrest, freezing temperatures across the country, riots, and so much more. And, unfortunately, rather than meeting these challenges on our feet like men, many have allowed fear to dictate their course of action.

Today, I am joined by former Navy SEAL, Eddie Penney to talk about living life unafraid. We talk about dealing with death, addressing and overcoming the victimhood mentality, equality vs. equity, where morals and values are derived from, and how to live fully in spite of the fear that surrounds us.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Being manipulated and controlled

EDDIE PENNEY

My guest today is Eddie Penney. He spent 20 years in the military as a Marine initially then a Navy SEAL assigned to Navy Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU), better known as SEAL Team Six.

He’s an absolutely incredible human being and has proven himself to be a tremendous asset in the military, to his children, and in later founding the Contingent Group which is an organization designed to provide safety and security needs for people and organizations domestically and internationally.

THE IRON COUNCIL

I ask every new member of our exclusive brotherhood, the Iron Council, why they decided to band with us, and, overwhelmingly, it boils down to accountability.

Accountability just isn’t something many men seem to be getting in any other capacity of life. But inside of the Iron Council, we have developed the systems and strategies for maximum accountability to other high-achieving men and, more importantly, accountability to yourself.

And, we’ve found that when a man learns how to harness the power of accountability, he is able to be much more productive, effective, and fulfilled in every other area of his life. Accountability fills the void that many men experience in their lives.

So, if you’re looking to harness the power of accountability in your life, we invite you to join us in the Iron Council at www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil.

RANDALL WALLACE

My guest today is the legendary Randall Wallace. You may not recognize his name but I guarantee you that you are deeply familiar with his work.

Randall is a screenwriter, director, producer, New York Times Bestselling Author, and songwriter. He wrote Braveheart, Man in the Iron Mask, Pearl Harbor, and We Were Soldiers among many other incredible motion pictures, many of which he produced and directed and has won several Academy Awards.

He is an insanely talented individual – far beyond what I knew when we agreed to do a podcast together – and he is deeply reflective and insightful around the subject of men and masculinity.

You guys are going to really enjoy this conversation. It was incredibly powerful and inspiring for me.

IRON COUNCIL

Gentlemen, very quickly, I wanted to introduce you to the Iron Council if you’re not already familiar. Randall and I have talked a bit about in this conversation the power of brotherhood and finding other men who are qualified to be in your corner.

Unfortunately, it seems to be increasingly difficult to find those types of men and develop powerful bonds that will help both of you succeed. That’s where the Iron Council comes into play.

Inside the Iron Council, there are over 800 men who are all like-minded and working towards the same goals and objectives. These are incredibly motivated and ambitious men and they have not only the desire to succeed but to help all the men inside the Iron Council do the same.

Feb 9, 2021

My guest today likely needs no introduction. His name is Tim Kennedy and he is one of the most interesting men on the planet. I had the opportunity to talk with Tim remotely years ago but to be able to sit down with him at his home was one of my favorite opportunities since I started podcasting over six years ago.

We get into a lot during our discussion together including his plans to replace traditional education with something that will serve our sons and daughters much better, why he believes there are forms of “toxic masculinity” in society, his thoughts on some sort of “mandatory military service,” why his wife completely believes in him, and his personal mission to protect and preserve human life.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Apogee Acadamy and Apogee Strong
  • Becoming an FBI profiler
  • The lies about masculinity
  • Lowering the standard
  • Thoughts on mandatory service
  • Fostering culture and commitment
  • To protect and preserve human life
  • How failure impacts us physiologically
  • Finding growth in physical pain
  • A wife's undying support
  • Stepping into the cage

TIM KENNEDY

As I said earlier, my guest today is the one and only Tim Kennedy and he is one of the baddest men on the planet.

He is an Army Ranger Green Beret, a former UFC fighter, and, among so many other things, he is in the process of opening a school that will teach young men and women in ways that are much more conducive to their overall success.

On top of all that, Tim is extremely thoughtful and insightful and has always provided me with a new and/or deeper way of looking at my role as a man.

Men, you are really going to enjoy this conversation. I know that I did.

CRAFTING THE PERFECT DAY

It doesn’t matter what your goals are if you can’t craft a strategy for attacking the day that moves you systematically toward the completion of those goals.

And, inside our exclusive brotherhood, the Iron Council, we are talking about exactly this – crafting the perfect day – for the month of February. The truth is that I’ve spent years of my life floundering around wondering how I was going to make something of myself. To a degree, I believed that when it was meant to happen, it just would.

It wasn’t until I was introduced to several mentors who explained to me the importance of a powerful morning routine, certain strategies, tactics, and tools to use throughout the day, and how to perfectly recap your day in order to carry the momentum over that I begin to realize what I set out to accomplish.

If you’re interested in learning those exact strategies and formulas that I learned years ago, please join me in the Iron Council at www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil.

You know, I’ve spent the last six years trying to formulate the perfect conversation and keep it within a certain topic. But the more I have conversations with incredible guests like mine today, the more I realize that a real conversation goes where it goes and isn’t confined to a particular topic.

So, when I had the opportunity to sit down with Evan Hafer, founder of Black Rifle Coffee Company, I realized there was tremendous value in letting the conversation go where it wanted to go. We talked about archery, his recent controversy with both the right and left side of the political spectrum, how to lead and manage well, racism, pop culture, and just about everything in between.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Getting into archery
  • Fist adaptive athlete archery shoot
  • Struggling in business
  • Trying not to focus on the negative
  • Getting through trauma
  • The ego-driven mentality
  • Applying communication differently
  • Dictators Vs. Leaders
  • Being the “nice guys”
  • Having productive arguments
  • Communicating your brand
  • Protecting free speech at all cost
  • Big governments “one size fits all” solution
  • The path of least resistance
  • Adding value to other men
  • Being the maximum version of yourself
  • Flexing the creative muscles
  • Earning confidence
  • Recalling the miserable times
  • Improving things locally

EVAN HAFER

My guest today is the one and only Evan Hafer. Of course, you likely know that he is the founder and CEO of the leading Veteran-Owned coffee roastery, Black Rifle Coffee Company.

But he’s also a former Green Beret and a hardened badass. I had the opportunity to sit down with Evan at his ranch in San Antonio and although I’m sure there are preconceived notions about who he is, this man is a marketing genius and has, in a period of six years grown his company from roasting coffee out of the back of a Humvee to an international brand that employs over 400 people - many of who are United States Combat Veterans.

I think you gentlemen are going to dig this conversation that we, fortunately, got to do in-person on his ranch in Texas. I enjoyed the hell out of this conversation. You will too.

CRAFTING THE PERFECT DAY

Gentlemen, inside the Iron Council, for the month of February, we’re going to talking about and challenging each other to create and formulate our perfect day.

Of course, “the perfect day,” is subjective but we’re going to be holding each other accountable for the entire month to testing and experimenting with systems, strategies, tools, and resources to maximize each day to its fullest – from the time we wake up, to the way we go about our duties, to the way we cap the day to carry momentum over to the next.

The reality is that each of us can squeeze more productivity out of every hour that we have and it’s our goal inside the Iron Council to show you how to do exactly that through accountability, teaching, instruction, and brotherhood.

In popular culture, it’s increasingly frowned upon to utter the phrases, “man up,” or “be a man.” It’s easy to misconstrue what those terms mean and convenient to dismiss them as some sort of misguided sense of masculinity. Without context, anything can be painted as negative or “toxic.” With context, however, we can see how powerful those statements can be.

My guest and friend, Bedros Keuilian, is back on the podcast to dissect what those phrases mean and teach us how we can incorporate solid principles in our lives and in the lives of the young men looking to us for an example. We talk about the value of harvesting your own provisions, why brutally honest feedback is crucial to your success, losing and regaining your sense of purpose, and our responsibility to the generations of men who will follow in our footsteps.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • Fit Body Bootcamp
  • Squire Program
  • Multiple income streams
  • Donating to the Shiners
  • Seeking fulfillment
  • Feeling like an imposter
  • Being crippled by convenience
  • Valuing what you harvest
  • The responsibility of parents
  • How you show up matters
  • Figuring out the needs of people
  • Receiving brutally honest feedback
  • Why consequences matter
  • The lack of commitment
  • Turning off social media
  • The “outraged” economy
  • The loss of balance
  • Losing your sense of purpose
  • Becoming a role model

BEDROS KEUILIAN

Gentlemen, I have been looking forward to having Bedros Keuilian join us again on the podcast. I met Bedros years ago and I’m honored to call him a mentor and friend.

I was fortunate enough to have him invite me to speak at one of his programs a couple of weeks ago and, although you may know him for founding and running one of the largest fitness franchises in the world, you may not know about his programs for men and for young men.

These are transformation events and I’m honored to have played just a very small part in what this incredible man is doing in the lives of the men and young men who attend his events.

Bedros is an author, entrepreneur, speaker, podcast host of Empire Podcast, and an absolutely incredible man, friend, and mentor.

CRAFTING THE PERFECT DAY

I’m a huge believer that the way you tee yourself up for the day will determine your results for the day. And, as you compound enough of those powerful days together, you will undoubtedly win.

That said, there are a lot of men (you might be one of them) who don’t know how to craft the day from the minute they wake up to the minute their heads hit the pillow at night for maximum productivity and efficiency.

That’s why, for the month of February, we’re talking about this exact topic inside our exclusive brotherhood, the Iron Council. We’re going to be talking about starting the day right, tools and systems for eliminating distractions, recapping your day so you don’t lose momentum each night, and so much more.

So, if you want the tools, systems, and accountability to make each day your best and, more importantly, create the success that follows, join us inside the Iron Council at www.orderofman.com/ironcouncil.

I know that you have lofty and ambitious goals. I do too. I also know that, sometimes, the objectives we desire may seem out of reach, if not impossible. There is a myriad of reasons we may feel this way but regardless of the reasons, they hinder our realized potential.

Today, I am joined by a man who has not only studied making the impossible achievable, he’s spent his life immersed and surrounded by the men who are doing it. His name is Steven Kotler and he is the author of The Art of Impossible. Today we talk about why achievement is an art, not a science, how to develop and trigger your “flow state,” why everyone is wired for peak performance, the power of novelty, and how to create the impossible.

SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

  • The peak performance mind
  • Conducting your own experiment
  • Crawl, walk, run
  • The flow source code
  • Reframing pleasure
  • Flow hacking
  • Multi-tool solutions
  • Keeping promises
  • The Bannister Effect
  • Quality matters
  • Cognitive load
  • Building routine
  • Double motivation

STEVEN KOTLER

My guest today is Steven Kotler. I have literally been working on getting him to join us on the podcast for years and today, that becomes a reality.

If you’re not familiar with Steven, he is the author of his latest book, The Art of Impossible, Stealing Fire, The Rise of Superman, and ten other books. He’s an award-winning journalist and the Executive Director of the Flow Research Collective. He’s been featured in the Wall Street Journal, TIME, and The Harvard Business Review.

He’s an extremely fascinating individual and extremely intelligent. Gents, I think you’re going to enjoy this one.

THE IRON COUNCIL

Gentlemen, I don’t think it’s any surprise to you that we’ve started to see a huge crackdown of sorts by the technology giants on anyone who doesn’t toe the line with what is acceptable in the Doctrine of Popular Culture.

And, if you’ve been following us for any amount of time, you know that we talk about – the restoration of masculinity – isn’t a favorite subject of theirs.

With all that said, we’ve created a closed-frame brotherhood of like-minded men where not only can we have the real conversations that need to be had, but we can also challenge either other necessary to do the self-work required to lead ourselves and our families well.

If you’re interested in banding with other men who believe the way you do and are actively working to make themselves better in all ways, join us inside the Iron Council.
